Check out singer set for X Factor appearance

A supermarket worker from the Midlands is hoping to confirm she has the X Factor when she appears on the popular TV talent show in the coming weeks.

Twenty-one-year-old Sarah Wills from Kidderminster is thought to have been given a undisputed vote through to boot camp by the show’s judges during auditions held in Birmingham earlier this year.

The customer service adviser at the Tesco store in Castle Street, Kidderminster, was the very first competitor to appear before the new panel of judges, made up of Take
That stars Gary Barlow, Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland, N-Dubz star Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh.

The former King Charles I pupil performed the song One Night Only, which seemed to go down very healthy with the panel.

The budding singer, who has worked for Tesco for three years, said: I have been singing all my life. My favourites are Beyonce, Etta James and Tina Turner.
She added: I was frightened before the audition but I hope it has paid off.

X Factor 2011, ITV1, preview

It’s time to face the music once more, as the cranked-up karaoke contest that is The X Factor returns for its eighth year. This is amazing of a transitional series.

With svengali Simon Cowell busy launching the American version, the panel is 75 per cent latest, comprising Take That front man Gary Barlow, former Destiny’s Child diva Kelly Rowland, token “yoof"representative Tulisa Contostavlos from N-Dubz and Louis Walsh, the sole survivor from final series.

The boot camp stage has been revamped to be the toughest ever, taking place in front of a baying Wembley Arena audience, the live shows are going to be a stamina-sapping three hours extended, there will be fly-on-the-wall footage as contestant are filmed living together for the first time and Cowell will make his wonderful comeback for the final.

But it opens, as ever, with the audition stage. In another first, hopefuls have been capable to upload videos via YouTube, allowing for a bigger pool of potential talent – and tuneless lunatics.

During this first show, there are some flashes of vocal capability, a student who reveals more than just his voice and a brave hopeful who dares confront the feisty Contostavlos.

America's Got Talent' recap: New York auditions, take 2

I confess: I've been a little down on "America's Got Talent" these past few weeks. Look, each episode is watchable, especially during the auditions as we try to scout the season's eventual winner. But some recent nights just haven't been capable to capture the energy that's been the hit variety show's staple. Like a star pitcher suffering from a sore shoulder, we know the ability is there, but we just haven't seen it all come together in a while.

That's why Tuesday night's episode was as pleasant for the breath of fresh air it represented as it was for its energetic collection of outrageous acts. This wasn't just quality AGT — this was the best episode of the season. And rather than line up my recap as the usual best/worst breakdown, I'll just present the six most memorable acts of the night.

Tulisa Contostavlos: I don't want to be known for being a WAG

The new judge subtly snubs Cheryl Cole
Tulisa Contostavlos may have stepped into Cheryl Cole's shoes on The X Factor, but she doesn't desire her lifestyle.

The feisty N-Dubz star, whose similar wardrobe and no-nonsense attitude often give increase to Cheryl comparisons, absolutely doesn't want to marry a footballer like Ashley Cole.

I don't want to be known for being a WAG,' Tulisa announced on David Walliams' new panel demonstrate Wall of Fame.

'I'd say about 80% of men cheat - sorry guys.

Tulisa turned up to the Machester X Factor auditions looking just as glam as the Geordie pop star in a white jumpsuit.

Following a £28k makeover, the 22-year-old is determined to top her predecessor in the fashion and loveliness stakes.

Jennifer Lawrence: The next big thing

She's only 20 and already has an Oscar nomination to her name. Currently Jennifer Lawrence stars as a blue mutant in X-Men and a teen warrior in Hunger Games. Has success affected her?

At the moment, Jennifer Lawrence — Academy Award nominee, comic-book-movie star and the current illegally anointed It Girl — can barely catch her breath long enough to have a conversation.

During a latest telephone call with Lawrence — who received her first Oscar nomination this year for her portrayal of a steely teen in Winter's Bone and will be seen in her first summer blockbuster, X-Men: First Class — the actress is all over the place.

Movie stardom actually requires multitasking for this 20-year-old. And this is only the beginning. After her turn as young shape-shifter Mystique (non-mutant name: Raven Darkholme) in X-Men: First Class, Lawrence will star in her buzziest role to date: as teen warrior Katniss Everdeen in the adaptation of the popular post-apocalyptic young-adult book series The Hunger Games, a role that has made her the subject of strong internet chatter and landed her on the cover of Entertainment Weekly.

So how has success affected her? Given her often delectably unpretentious answers to a reporter's questions, not a whole lot.

X Factor USA: Pussycat Dolls choreographer says “Simon really wanted Nicole on the show”

Robin Antin, the choreographer who initially put together hit girl band The Pussycat Dolls, has told Extra that Simon Cowell “really wanted” Nicole Scherzinger on X Factor USA.

Antin made her remarks in response to questions about why she thought Cheryl Cole had been axed from the demonstrate.

Robin spoke to Extra while attending the finale of this year’s American Idol, and she suggested that Nicole was an clear choice for judge over Cheryl, even though Cheryl has been with the show for its first auditions.

Antin added, “I know that there was a lot of going back and forth, and I know that Simon actually wanted Nicole to be on the show, no matter what.

So finding her the place of host made sense…
I don’t know the exact details of how everything went down, but it sounds like a excellent thing.

Nicole should be judging. She knows what she’s doing.
Do you agree? Is Nicole the right choice as a judge currently that Cheryl’s left?
