Featured Film Casting Auditions for "Patsy"

Today, Chance Film Productions announced that they will start a national audition search for women to play the country icon Patsy Cline. Six cities have been chosen for auditions, including Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

All roles are available for male and females, as well as roles for children from age 5 to 15 years old. Other specific roles are 1950's-60's country icons Loretta Lynn, Conway Twitty, George Jones, Johnny Cash and Tammy Wynette. Numerous extra roles are also required.

Auditions will be held on December 8th at the Downtown Marriott located at 5500 Hilton Avenue in Baton Rouge and hosted by Stage 2000. We will start on at 12 Noon and run until all auditioners have been seen. Those who desire to participate should bring their resume as well as two photos (one head shot and one full-length).

If you do not have photos, a professional photographer will be on hand. Participants should have at least one Patsy Cline number ready and another of their choice. Musical accompaniment is not provided, but acappella is acceptable. Those who wish may give a musical instrument.

Disney auditioning actors for new series titled "I Didn't Do It"

Bandwagon Entertainment has been given a series pilot order by Disney Channel for a new sitcom titled "I didn’t do it". Auditions are in progress for the series regulars and possible recurring roles. Extras and stand-ins will be hired starting near the beginning January, 2013 when shooting begins in Los Angeles.

There are many roles for actors to play high school students, particularly required will be extras who are 18 and over who can play younger. The 1/2 hour show centers around a pair of fourteen year old fraternal twins and their dubious tales, with stories told in reverse menology.

 Tod Himmel and Josh Silverstein wrote and are executive producing the show. Silverstein has written for the Disney Channel series "That's So Raven" starring Raven-Symoné and Orlando Brown, and it's spin-off series "Cory in the House" starring Kyle Massey and Jason Dolley; "So Random!" starring Tiffany Thornton and Sterling Knight, and its parent series "Sonny with a Chance" starring Demi Lovato.

Tod Himmel has a long list of writing and producing credits that span two decades. His credits include "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch," "Suddenly Susan," "Everybody Loves Raymond," "Hope & Faith," and "90210".

Traveling Auditions Provoke Concerns

An advertisement that hit the Quad City air last week has made some confusion.

As a traveling show asking for kids to participate in their talent competitions referenced the Disney channel.

There are questions parents need to ask before signing up for any talent scouting group.

First, who's been successful with this company?

Get their references and see what children with similar backgrounds have been able to break into the field.

Second, get everything in writing and read the fine print.

That will explain what to do if you're not satisfied and whether a refund is available.

And third, take your time.

Being rushed is why one local woman chose not to put any money down.

"Do you like Disney, do you watch, well I can't even think of the shows on there," says Misty DePauw. She took her daughter Samantha to the audition after hearing the radio ad.

"(She's) very into some of the Disney shows, and now with YouTube and stuff being able to put your own video's on, who doesn't want to be a star?"

They went to an audition session hosted by "The Event." A traveling company that sells vacation packages combined with a talent competition. But after doing some homework, Misty decided not to buy in.

"I think they're trying to make some fast money off people, and it's sad that they're using a child's dream," says DePauw.

TV 6 investigated those claims to see if others feel the same. The BBB says while issue come up with this company. Their marketing campaign is legitimate.

But they suggest other parents considering these types of things do what DePauw did, and do their homework.

"It's really your job as a consumer to ask as many questions as you can," says Quad Cities BBB representative Patt Englander.

She says it's smart to take extra care with any traveling company.

"When companies come in, they're here for a short period of time and then they leave, it's difficult to track that information."

Englander says there's lots of places to get information. The BBB, the state attorney general's office, even the local police department.

"They have information on companies that kind of come through town."

DePauw says it was a learning experience. And it encouraged her daughter to try some new skills.

"She's asked about getting into some dancing so maybe, we'll have to see," says DePauw.

The X Factor Season 2 USA: Fashionable Interview with Paige Thomas

It has been a rough journeying for Paige Thomas on The X Factor. During the auditions, we saw Kaci Newton mocking the single Mom as she ready for her audition. Then in Boot Camp, there seems to be a strong battle going on between her and CeCe Frey. Will all the troubles be worth it or will Paige's dreams be cut short before the live shows start? More episodes will tell that fate, but today Paige talked with Reality Wanted in an exclusive interview about the battle with CeCe, forgetting the lyrics and much more.

Q. Todd, RealityWanted: What made you initially try out for The X Factor?

A. Paige: I watched the show last year and I saw they have a lot of dancing and dancers on the stage and things like that. I was looking for something along those lines because singing and dancing is something I love to do. That spiked my interest and just wanting to have something better for myself and my daughter.

Q. Todd, RealityWanted: What made you choose "I'm Going Down" for your audition song?

A. Paige: There were a couple of sings I had in mind and I wanted to change them up, but I couldn't change them up the way I wanted to. That song was a song that I love to sing. It kind of felt like how I felt at the time. I was kind of going down and I wanted something to help me go up. I took the song and perceived it, not necessarily how the song is meant to be perceived, but it meant something to me but not how people would normally perceive it. So, I took that song and tried to change it.

Q. Todd, RealityWanted: What was it like seeing your audition on TV?

A. Paige: It was awesome to see my audition on TV because when you're there and actually caught up in the moment, for me I didn't know what was going on. It was kind of nice to see what had happened because I didn't know. It was all just a blur. It was so surreal to have that opportunity. It was reliving the moment when I watched it, but it was almost like it was happening for the first time again. It was definitely amazing, but it was kind of weird to watch myself too (laughs).

Q. Todd, RealityWanted: During all of Boot Camp, it looks like there is an intense battle between you and CeCe. Was it as intense as it seems on TV?

A. Paige: No, it was actually that intense. I think the show did a great job at capturing the true emotions of what was going on. It's a competition for $5 million, so it gets cutthroat. CeCe and I have learned to grow and respect each other as artists, but at that moment it was definitely like that.

Q. Todd, RealityWanted: You struggled with the OneRepublic song and missed some lyrics. What brought on that slipup during the battle with CeCe, maybe nerves or not knowing the song going into the performance?

A. Paige: It's a mixture of everything. I didn't know the song and its nerve wracking to know if you mess up the lyrics there is a possibility of you going home. You have all these thoughts going through your mind. It's almost harder as you get further, because there is more at stake. It's a lot for me, because it's not a $5 million contract for me. It's a $5 million contract for my daughter, for my family, for myself and everyone that said I couldn't do it. It was scary. Not only nerves, but I was exhausted when I had gotten to that point. It is hard work and you are up all the time and you're working hard and it tends to take a toll once you get so far.

Q. Todd, RealityWanted: If you were to make it past Boot Camp, what mentor would you like to work with and why them?

A. Paige: I think I would be happy with any mentor, if I can get that far. Each judge has a little bit of everything that I want to be taught. Britney Spears has the performance aspect and I absolutely love her. I have been to her concerts and she can teach me that stuff. Demi Lovato has had some hard times and she's overcome them and she's a good role model and she definitely connects with her audience when she performs. I think she could teach me how to do that. L.A. and Simon are some of the biggest known producers out there. It's kind of hard to say which one I want in particular.

Q. Todd, RealityWanted: What has this whole experience meant to you so far?

A. Paige: It's meant the world. It's so weird to think that I'm actually here. I've tried many things with the nursing school, being a mother and trying to sing and it hasn't worked out. It's something I can't put into words just the fact that I've gotten to Boot Camp. Not in a million years did I ever think I was going to get there. Just keep working hard with what I do and see where I can go with it.

Q. Todd, RealityWanted: Anything to say to your fans out there reading this?

A. Paige: I absolutely love you guys so much. You guys mean the world to me. I'll keep working hard and I hope I'm a positive role model for you and thank you so much for the support. Keep pushing for your dreams.

10 things I’ve learned about fashion blogging

It’s been nearly two years since I began my adventures with British Style Bloggers, and I have enjoyed every minute of it.  I’m going through a lot of exciting changes in my life right now, and with this in mind have been taking stock of all the cool things I am lucky enough to be involved in.  I could never have imagined that my love of putting an opinion out there could have led to a voluntary ‘career’ in fashion, and yet here I sit.  So, I thought I would mark the occasion by imparting some of the ‘wisdom’ I have acquired.  In no particular order, and with my tongue firmly in my cheek, here they are:

• You can read as many fashion blogs and magazines as you like, but you’ll still be paralysed with clothes insecurity when Fashion Week comes around.
• You dress each day like you’re ready to be shot for a street-style piece.  Even if if you’ve got nothing planned.  And if you let this slip, even for just one day, you’ll be paranoid that you’ll be exposed as a fraud.
• In fact, you’re pretty much constantly convinced that you’re going to be exposed as some kind of sartorial fraud
• People in ‘real life’ are always going to confusedly question why you choose to work as hard as you do at something for free…
• …  But then be super-jealous when you mention your press pass for that awesome event.You’ll make it work, even if at times you haven’t got the time, the patience or the money.
• Your first Fashion Week will be the most disorientating, tiring, confusing experience of your life, and subsequent ones don’t appear to get that much easier as you try and fit more and more in.
• Working, virtual relationships become heartfelt, genuine friendships.
• And finally, cheesy as it sounds, it’ll all be worth it.  Hard work and determination never go out of style.

“American Idol” testing in Charlotte

The country’s biggest car maker Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, to transmit one-third of its production by rail have gotten fixed as Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corp. Ltd (HSIIDC) hasn’t capable to obtain the land needed to put down dedicated tracks from Patli station in Manesar to the company’s plant 18km away.

The compact, intense on dropping its trust on road transport as output is set to rise to three million units a year in the next three-four years, is pushing Indian Railways to set up an option. Besides saving on expenses, wear and tear, transporting vehicles by rail divides the transit time.

Maruti Suzuki official said that the Maruti alone will be developing three million automobiles by 2015-16 and all these automobiles cannot go by road. So a practical option is required.

M.M. Singh, chief operating officer (production) at Maruti Suzuki said that besides ground achievement problems, there is also a question on whether the project should be dedicated wholly to Maruti or be thrown open to other companies. Singh also heads a team of professionals from the automobile industry looking for to increase teamwork with the railways. “Initially, the plan was to get the railway line to Manesar as we plan to move 35% of our total production through (the) railways,” he said.

Maruti, which has industrial unit in Gurgaon and nearby Manesar, now transfers 5% of its production by rail. The quantity of cars that it sends by rail is controlled by the lack of services.

Hit dance auditions set

The Resident Youth hit Dance Company will host auditions June 18th Monday, 6 to 8 p.m., at the Marcia P. Hoffman Performing Arts Institute at Ruth Eckerd Hall, 1111 McMullen Booth Road.

Hit dancers, ages 12 to 18, interested in performance opportunities are invited to audition for the Rhythm and Sole hit Ensemble 2012-13.

Dancers must be ready to perform a minimum 30-second a cappella tap routine. Hit dancers must exhibit strong technique, musicality and stage presence. Hit dancers also will learn choreography during the audition process.

Hit Troupe's mission is to expand and promote the art form of tap dance. Past performances have included the ABC News Super bowl Tailgate Party, Walt Disney World, The Side by Side by Side Concert at Ruth Eckerd Hall, the opening act for Maroon 5 at Ruth Eckerd Hall and the hit City Showcase at the Symphony Space Theater on Broadway.

The Hoffman Institute's own neighborhood hit ensemble meets twice a week to study and rehearse for performance opportunities. The youth hit repertoire includes cutting-edge choreography in everything from classical jazz to musical theater, rhythm and funk.
