Numerous Valley City (N.D.) State University students performed at the North Dakota National Association of Teachers of playing auditions April 10 in Fargo. The auditions are held annually and engross undergraduate- and graduate-level vocalists from across North Dakota.
The auditions engage three rounds of singing with only 30 percent of each division proceeding to the subsequently round. More than 110 students performed at the auditions this following year. Three VCSU students advanced to the second round of performance: Kirci Phillips, Thomas Zinke and Faith Heitzmann. Phillips and Zinke advanced to the ending round of auditions in their particular divisions. Phillips took third place in her division (sophomore women) and Zinke took first position in his (sophomore men).
