The Highest Charting UK Boy Band In The US Singles Charts.

The great five-piece act were formed in 2010 by the X Factor judges after they failed to impress as solo artists. Band member Harry Styles said reaching number one was a "dream come true" for the group. "We simply cannot believe that we are number one in America. We want to thank each and every one of our fans in the US who bought our album and we would also like to thank the American public for being so supportive of us."

Fellow band member Niall Horan added as you can imagine, we are over the moon. "When we got put together as a group, we couldn't imagine ourselves coming to America, let alone releasing our album here, so for us to be sitting at the top of the US album charts is unbelievable."

X Factor judge and music executive Simon Cowell signed the band to his record label
UK boy band in the US chartsSyco Music last year. "I couldn't be happier for One Direction, it is an incredible achievement. They deserve it. They have the best lovely fans in the world," Cowell said. The feat comes in the same week it was announced the band have secured their own US TV show.

The success One Direction's number one follows their successful debut in the singles chart with What Makes You Beautiful last month, which went to number 28 in the Hot 100.The group, who have just finished their US tour and are now back in the UK, will perform live on the Jay Leno show later this month.They have already sung live on the Ellen show and Chelsea Lately.

The star of Irina, who is dating Real Madrid footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, may have been a shining star at the screening, but it is Lawrence who is expected to become hot property after her turn in the film. Based on the book by the same name, with 23.5 million copies in print in the U.S., the movie set the record for first day advance fast sales beating Twilight when tickets went on sale on February 22.

Dancing With The Stars Performance Hall Show

The great American Idol’s Gina Glocksen and seen “Dancing with the Stars’” Edyta Sliwinska on TV. Stars from Fox TV’s realty TV singing competition, professionals from excellent dancing competitions on ABC and Fox will be on stage for a song and dance extravaganza “Ballroom with a Twist” on March 27. Best of all, said Sliwinska, there are no judges.

“Amazing Performing without the factor of the competition, it’s liberating. No matter how you look at ‘Dancing with the stars, there’s the pressure to do well and the pressure to be judged.”

Sliwinska’s husband, Alec Mazo, was the first winner, with Kelly Monaco, in July 2005.

Auditions for ‘Titanic, the Musical’ announced by EOU

Titanic the Musical
The Eastern Oregon University Theatre and Music programs are satisfied to publicize universal and open auditions for their future manufacture of “Titanic, the Musical.”

EOU and La Grande community announce auditions will be held in McKenzie Theater or the choir room 14 of March at 5 to 8 p.m. A sign-up sheet for audition times will be posted on the board in the Green Room and people can get a sign-up time by calling 541-962-3318.

EOU and La Grande community members should come practiced with a song from the musical for a part in which they are interested.

“Titanic, the Musical” performances will be May 17-20 at 7 p.m.

Auditioners should come prepared with a calendar of their schedule for the months of April through May. Call backs will be March 15 as required at 6 p.m. in the McKenzie Theater.
