Nicholas Hoult and Aaron Johnson are to battle is out for the role of Jack in Bryan Singer's latest action fantasy Jack the Giant Killer.The common Suspects director has begun screen-testing for his remake of the 1962 movie based on the fairytale of Jack and the Beanstalk, and while Kick-Ass star Aaron has been an early favorite, A Single Man's Nicholas is also in the running.
Bryan is also screen-testing Aneurin Barnard for the position of the young farmer, according to The Hollywood Reporter, a comparatively unknown Welsh actor who starred in the West End production of the musical Spring Awakening.
Jamie Campbell Bower, who appeared in Sweeney Todd and as Gellert Grindelwald in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, was also on the list, but insiders say he bankrupt his ankle and now can't audition.
