BET 'Sunday Best' winner Le'Andria Johnson will perform in Muskegon

MUSKEGON HEIGHTS — the singing took be concerned of itself, said Le’Andria Johnson, season three winner of BET’s “Sunday Best” gospel singing competition.

The hard part believed she deserved to be there in the first place.

Johnson will be appearing at the Water’s Performing Arts Auditorium for a fundraiser on April 2. Part of the proceeds will benefit the Reading and Math Program at the Muskegon Heights Boxing Club.

We hope Le’Andria’s story will be an stimulation for a depressed community, said Michael Thompson, who is working with the Muskegon Oceana Community Action Partnership to stage the demonstrate.

But our main reason is to bring concentration and focus to the issue of literacy, he said. There are students here who don’t have fundamental reading and math skills who are facing a bleak future.

Johnson herself was facing an unsure future until recently.

Please. No, she said to a friend (whose name she gently insists on keeping private) who urged her to go to original Orleans and audition for the cable TV competition which has, some believe, uncovered far better singing talent than another more extensively known network rival.
