Simon Cowell ‘mortified’ by X Factor’s auto-tuning

The music mogul said: ‘It was completely wrong and we can’t allow it to happen again. I’m mortified by what’s happened.

The most important thing now is to ensure viewers can trust what they see on the demonstrate,’ he told The Mirror.

X Factor’s opening night was found to have used voice enhancement technology on some of the contestants but the show’s bosses are now re-editing most recent Saturday’s show back to its original form.

The show’s bosses have now confirmed that the ‘auto-tune’ won’t be used on contestant’s voices in the future.

A spokesperson also added: We do not use, and never have used, audio technology that would unfairly mirror any singer’s original performance on The X Factor.
